At Eden Insulation, we wanted to have a working building that demonstrates how a low-energy building goes together and operates… so we built one in the factory yard in Appleby!
Our new office is highly insulated with fantastic levels of airtightness. It has triple glazing and a working mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR) system. Given the small form of our new office, it’s very difficult to make it a fully Passivhaus building, but we have followed all the general principles of Passivhaus. We think it is a great way for our prospective clients to see how a low-energy building works and feels.
This building is completely free standing and can be moved to a new location if necessary.
